Example
Before
Pear Apple Pear
After
Pear Apple
What to check
- “Apple” and “apple” are treated as different lines.
- Sorting changes the original order.
How this cleaner works
Duplicate-line removal compares complete lines exactly and keeps the first occurrence. It is case-sensitive and does not trim every line automatically, so “Apple”, “apple”, and “Apple ” can remain distinct unless you clean spacing or case as a separate step.
Natural sorting is optional and runs after deduplication. It is useful for keywords, identifiers, email-free lists, and copied records where order has no meaning. Leave sorting off when the first-seen order carries context.
Useful for
- Keyword and tag lists
- Repeated rows copied from reports
- Simple inventories and identifiers
Common questions
Is matching case-sensitive?
Yes. Exact-line matching avoids silently merging values whose capitalization may be meaningful.
Does sorting happen automatically?
No. Deduplication preserves first-seen order unless you explicitly turn on Sort lines.
