Example
Before
A MIXED case SENTENCE.
After
A mixed case sentence.
What to check
- Automatic title case does not know every language or house style.
- Sentence case lowercases existing proper names.
How this cleaner works
Uppercase and lowercase use the browser’s locale-aware Unicode case conversion. Sentence case first lowers the text, then capitalizes a lowercase letter at the beginning and after common sentence-ending punctuation. Title case capitalizes the first letter after a non-letter or non-number boundary.
Case conversion is deterministic rather than editorial. It cannot identify every proper name, abbreviation, headline style, or language-specific title rule. Keep the original pane available and review names before using the result.
Useful for
- Repairing accidental caps lock
- Normalizing short labels or lists
- Creating a quick sentence-case draft
Common questions
Will sentence case preserve proper names?
Not always. It lowercases existing capitalization before rebuilding sentence starts, so names and abbreviations need review.
Does it work with non-English letters?
The converter uses Unicode-aware browser methods, but language-specific casing rules and title conventions still vary.
