Example
Before
Too many spaces.
After
Too many spaces.
What to check
- Indentation made with repeated spaces will be reduced.
- Line breaks remain unless you choose another option.
How this cleaner works
The extra-space cleaner collapses runs of horizontal spaces and tabs to a single normal space. Trimming removes whitespace only from the beginning and end of the complete text. It does not remove line breaks unless you select a separate line option.
This is useful after copying from rich-text editors, websites, chat tools, and justified documents. Because repeated spaces sometimes encode indentation or table columns, the result remains separate from the input and the change report tells you whether spacing was altered.
Useful for
- Text copied from Word or Google Docs
- Chat messages with irregular spacing
- Prose that should keep its paragraphs
Common questions
Does it remove tabs?
Runs of tabs and spaces are treated as horizontal spacing and collapse to one space when the option is enabled.
Will it remove paragraph breaks?
No. Paragraph and line-break behavior is controlled separately.
